Facts You Might Not Know About Your Favorite Horror Wicked Horror

If you're a fan of horror movies, chances are you've heard of the classic film Poltergeist. And if you're a true fan, you probably have at least one Poltergeist wallpaper adorning your desktop. But did you know there's more to this iconic film than just spooky visuals and jump scares? We've dug up some interesting facts you might not know about your favorite horror, Poltergeist.

Firstly, did you know that the film's original tagline was "It knows what scares you"? This chilling phrase perfectly encapsulates the film's premise - a family terrorized by supernatural forces that seem to know their deepest fears. But did you know that this tagline was actually changed to "They're here" after test audiences found it to be more memorable?

Another interesting fact is that Poltergeist was co-written and co-produced by Steven Spielberg, who is known for his iconic films such as E.T. and Jaws. However, due to a clause in his contract with Universal Studios, he was not allowed to direct another film while working on E.T. This led him to hand over the directorial duties to Tobe Hooper, who is best known for directing The Texas Chainsaw Massacre.

And here's a fun tidbit - the iconic scene where the young girl, Carol Anne, is sucked into the TV was actually achieved by having a stunt double stand behind a mirror and push against it while the actress was on the other side. This created the illusion of her being pulled into the screen. Talk about movie magic!

Lastly, did you know that the famous scene where the skeletons emerge from the swimming pool was actually filmed with real human skeletons? The production team found it cheaper to use real bones instead of creating fake ones, and they were able to rent them from a medical supply company. Creepy, right?
