Shield volcanoes, such as Mauna Loa in Hawaii, have a broad, gentle slope and are typically formed by fluid lava flows. Cinder cone volcanoes, like Parícutin in Mexico, are created by explosive eruptions that produce steep, conical mounds of ash and cinders.

Composite volcanoes, also known as stratovolcanoes, are the most picturesque of the three. These iconic volcanoes, such as Mount Fuji in Japan, are made up of alternating layers of lava, ash, and rocks. They are known for their explosive eruptions that can produce a combination of ash, lava, and pyroclastic flows.

With Volcano Backgrounds, you can explore the unique features and distinct beauty of each type of volcano.
